A good moisturizer is a vital part of my skincare routine. I will nag and bother everyone for not using them (same goes for not cleansing). It acts either as a coat or as a quick fix. It doesn't do magic (like the serums do) however it can quicky make the surface of your skin look better. The good news is great face creams can be found easily and you don't have to spend fortune on them. Here's a round-up of what I consider to be the best I have tried.
Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream is a great great option. Very soothing on a dry skin, it plumps it up and serves as a good base under your makeup. It might be a bit hard to come by but make sure you grab it when you see it, it's so worth it.
Whenever my skin gets extra dry to the point my everyday moisturizer isn't enough I always reach out for the good ol' Nivea. It's a classic. It never fails, it's easily accessible and it's cheap as chips. The smell always takes me back to my baby years when everyone in my family would use it for anything really (lip balm, body cream, cuts, scratches you name it). I would dare to compare to the cult-y Skin Food from Weleda ( I liked it but the scent put me off using it). I think they both do a similar job as resurrecting the parched surface of your skin.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is another good basic. It's a bit like a fancier (oh that dreamy scent) version of the Oilatum one. It does a great job at sealing in the products you put on your face prior to a moisturizer or as a base underneath your makeup. It feels feel very silky and it's available from FeelUnique.
Finally, this is something I picked up a few days ago and have been using day & night daily. It's Una Brennan's Overnight Skin Recovery Cream from their Probiotic range. I have to say it does what it says on the packaging. I like it because I don't have to re-apply every 10 minutes, my skin stays hydrated and soft for a much much longer time. It's a top quality product and honestly one of the best I've tried.
