The Nude Lip Edit

Up until recently I've been religiously wearing lipsticks in all the shades of rouge on a daily basis. I've always been a firm believer that red brightens up my complexion whereas nude makes me look quite dead. Even though I've had a brief moment with nude lip liners I could never fully commit. However, seeing the sudden revival of a neutral I slowly began to change my outlook and eventually gave in.

Clinique's Lip Pop in Beige Pop has been my go to lipstick since Christmas. It's definitely the lightest shade in my collection. These lovely bullets have been getting plenty of recognition and for all the good reasons. The texture is incredibly silky and it applies flawlessly. The weightless and moisturizing yet long lasting formula is one of my absolute favourites on the market.

The Velvet Touch lipstick in Matt Rose from Gosh has been my new discovery. It looks best when applied over freshly exfoliated and moisturized lips since it can be quite drying. It's a proper matte texture with very little slip. The colour however is opaque and the staying power decent. Pink hues very rarely suit me, but this cool toned dusty muted rose does look rather flattering.

The Only One lipstick from Rimmel promises umm everything- longevity, moisture and a good pigment. I'm never too fused about the staying power since I don't have an issue with reapplying. I have to say they're very balmy and comfortable to wear. Naughty Nude is a pretty warm and wearable neutral. I like to pair it with a 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Spice for an extra plumpness and definition. It's a nice a change from my usual brights.
