Prep & Primer (aka my Morning Routine)
I'm one of those people who wake up two hours before everybody else to get ready. Over the years of struggling with body image and self-loathing I've managed to build up a number of routines, one of which being- I like to spend an extra time on my skin before I decide to put makeup on. It helps me feel a bit better about myself. That and two mugs of coffee. Then I can say I'm ready.
Here are my morning essentials.
C L E A N S E R
T O N E R
Necessary or not I like this step. I use Pixi Glow Tonic every other day for a gentle exfoliation and a variation of soothing mists for a general refreshment.
H Y A L U R O N I C A C I D
A must. In any form. I discovered it a few years ago and haven't stopped using since. It keeps my skin plump and moisturised for longer. I've been using Indeed Labs Hydraluron serum mostly but I would also recommend Hylamide Booster Low-Molecular HA Serum.
S E R U M
All time favourite- Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum. I am yet to find a good one on a budget that offers satisfying results.
F A C I A L O I L / C R E A M
I usually top everything up with either (or both) depending on how my skin looks. Lately I've become pretty addicted to Pixi Rose Oil Blend. It's a great oil, relatively cheaper for what it is. My skin looks visibly smoother, silkier and more radiant after each use- it does what it says on the tin.
Classic moisturisers wise, I tend to go for rich textures like Weleda Skin Food, Avene Cicalfate and anything similar. I also like anything by Una Brennan.
P R I M E R
Usually I would go for Hylamide HA Blur but lately I've been testing 3CE Back to Baby Glow Beam primer for an extra radiance.
