Current Makeup Favourites #2

I’m aware I haven’t spoken about anything make up wise since February. There’s been a lot I have been trying but also quite a few products that I still like to use daily that I’ve had for a long time. Let’s have a look.

I finally invested in Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter as my skin, despite all of the rather rigorous daily regimes, always needs an extra something (glow). You can’t really go wrong with Charlotte’s products- everything I have tried so far has been pretty brilliant. And this product in particular has been hyped up as the ultimate glow / flawless base giver. I had to have it. The reviews don’t lie, it is rather lovely. I use it all over my face prior foundation although I do like to mix both together as well. The one I’ve been currently using is a Smart Hydrating Foundation from Kiko Milano. On its own it’s nothing special I must say. It’s nice and moist, covers well but doesn’t do anything extra. No glow, no blurring effects (like the brilliant Armani Luminous Silk or Givenchy Teint Couture balm). Mixed with the Flawless Filter however, it’s a whole new ball game. A special mention goes to Waterflower Magic Foundation Pigment Drops also from Kiko that I used to mix with Weleda Skin Food Light. Together it makes a nice and balmy texture for all the dry types. I really enjoyed using it.

Remember Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk? It only took me a year and a half to finish it. (AND had recently a full blown chat about the brilliance of it to one of the security officers at the airport when my bag was held up) I’m currently just dabbing in the remaining bits in conjunction with a sweep of the Bourjois Little Round Pot Duo. For a long time I’ve been trying to make bronzers a regular part of my makeup routine. I got a pot of Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel for my birthday and have been using it since. I’m really liking its creamy texture and the way it looks sheered out over my foundation. I don’t really contour with it, just use it top of my cheeks, nose and temple.

Guess what? I finally took a break from Nyx Micro Brow Pencil … well sort of, it’s still in my handbag if I need touch ups. But in the mornings or before I leave the house I started using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in ash brown and I can tell this is gonna last me for ages already. It’s great. Oh and I set it with Wonder'full Brow in Light from Rimmel.
I’ve not being using a liner at all and that’s due to the fact that I went and got myself a set of lash extensions a few times already over the past couple of months. Much like the liner eye shadows have taken a back seat as well, not that they’ve ever been a focal point of the way I do my face …Nevertheless, I am trying to use up all the remaining shades (mainly browns) from the palettes I own (Beauty Pie / Charlotte Tilbury). When it comes to mascara, I need a bit of definition on my lower lashes and for that I like using L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Magnetic Mascara.

Recently I really got into a habit of using a liner. For this I like a mixture of Sleek Locked up Lipliner in Just Because and Kiko’s Creamy Colour Comfort Lip Liner in Tea Rose. I only am just starting to be running out of my Glossier Cake lipstick. It’s been great but … a bit too orange on me in the end hence I went and repurchased Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer in Beige Pop which is my all time favourite lipstick formula AND my favourite nude shade in general. It is the one. It’s got the right about of pink and peach plus it’s not too dark or too light. It looks very chic and I would hate to see this discontinue.

Let me know what you’ve been using.
