My Favourite Formulas

When it comes to make up I always gravitate to anything that is hydrating whether it's a foundation or a lipstick. I think a dewy finish looks a hundred times better on the skin. Even when all the brands launched matte versions of their lipsticks I seemed to stick to my old favourites or would go for a semi-matte finish.

Ever since I bought one of the Cloud Paints from Glossier, I've stopped using my other favourites (Charlotte Tilbury, Max Factor). A cream blush seems to be working better in synergy with my skin but also with other base products. I usually just pat them in over my foundation for a more natural look and re-apply throughout the day if needed.

As I have mentioned previously my all time favourite lipstick formulas are satin/semi-matte hybrids- aka anything from Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution, Clinique Pop Lip Color and the recent Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color collections. I basically like anything that isn't entirely matte, with a minimal sheen, not too sheer but not too opaque, that feels extra comfortable on the lips and lasts for longer than an hour. Those three are my absolute favourite ranges as of now. I am looking to repurchase Pillow Talk and maybe try Very Victoria from the Matte Revolution. Then, I also want to get Crushed Lip Color in a more neutral shade (I bought it in Babe last time and wasn't entirely happy with the shade) and perhaps repurchase my beloved Blush Pop but also try other shades.

As you might know I adore a cream eye shadow. I've been pretty addicted to the Maybelline Color Tatoo in Creme de Rose  a while back but recently  switched to Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. Basically it's all I ever wear on my eye lids. I use it more to neutralise discolouration and brighten up the area rather than add colour hence a nude bone/ivory shades are all I'm always after. I will occasionally add a swish of something richer for a bit of a definition though.
